p.f. Coverage is not choice of individual employee.but in following situation he exempt himself from coverage.
1) his basic salary is above rs 6500/- since the beginning.
2) if he is giving declaration in form no -11 that he was not a p.f. Member in his previous company
3) if his age is above 58 years.
4) total strength of employees is less than 20 in the establishment.

If the Salary is More Than Rs.6500/- than he can be exempted. But the condition is that he should not be a member of EPF earlier. You have to get signed Form No.11.

coverage of p.f. Is not the choice of individual employee. It is the law and if somebody comes under the definition of coverage then he has to cover.
1) his basic at the time of joining is below rs -6500/-pm
2) if he is already covered then issue of rs 6500/- does not arise
3)p pf has no connection with the p.f
4) it is a statutory requirement.
5) self declaration has no meaning if his basic salary/wages is under the coverage of pf.

6) if he join newly and his basic is above rs 6500/- then only he can give declaration that he was never a p.f. Member in any company.
