Hi, can anybody give me an idea? What should the company do first to discipline an employee who is absent without a reasonable excuse? For example, should a reminder or verbal warning come first?
Overtime Requirements and Employee Compliance
The company requires all employees to do overtime at the last minute once they receive an order from a customer, typically 1 or 2 hours before finishing work. However, most employees refuse to do overtime. As an HR person, what can I do in this situation? Please advise.

Employee Discipline and Motivation Strategies
1. It depends on the past performance of the employee. If he is good, it will be helpful to understand his problem and advise him not to repeat the same in the future. If he is habitual, give him a written warning, and if he doesn't improve, you can take disciplinary action with reference to the warning letter.
2. You have to convey the same problem to the marketing team to set the target well in time so that you can communicate the same to your employees. It is natural that employees have planned their schedule after finishing their work, and it's difficult to manage them. Additionally, you can convey the company's growing position, market values, and future benefits for the employees. I am sure this will be enough to motivate them, and they will work sincerely.

Disciplinary Actions for Absenteeism
- What should the company do first to punish an employee if they are absent without a reasonable excuse? For example, is the first action a reminder or verbal warning?
- Prior to that, understand why they are late. What can the company do to prevent employees from being late?
Handling Overtime Refusal
The company requires all employees to do overtime at the last minute once they receive an order from a customer, typically 1 or 2 hours before finishing work. However, most employees refuse to do overtime. What should I, as an HR person, do in this situation?
- Who gave you the authority to make employees work overtime?
- Please instruct this person not to ask for overtime at the last minute.
Incentives for Overtime
2) What incentives do workers/employees receive for doing overtime?
Thank you.

1. Try to speak to the employee frankly and understand the real reason for their lateness. Make them realize that such behavior is unacceptable to the company. Following this discussion, the employee's supervisor can issue a written warning, which I believe will be effective.
2. You can offer time flexibility to employees willing to work overtime. Time flexibility allows them to arrive a little late the next day or make similar adjustments, subject to management approval.
