We are planning to have an activity in our office on "World Environment Day." Can you please suggest any themes or concepts for that? I am eagerly waiting for your reply.

Hi,
Our company is a leather export company with several factories in Kolkata. Today in the afternoon, I am conducting a program where we will be planting saplings on Monday, 6th June in all the factory compounds. All the employees are very enthusiastic about this initiative. The program will last about 15 minutes at each location, and the plantation will be carried out by the workers themselves. We will also take some photographs to display on the notice board.

Well, I do not believe that you have to be in a particular industry for planting trees. Anyways, you can organize a PowerPoint (PPT) presentation on "Mother Earth and the Need to Save the Environment" and show it on a projector, maybe in the evening. Then, you can request the director to plant a tree at the entrance of the office or perhaps place two or three pots at the entrance, and gather all employees for this activity. It will take a maximum of 20 minutes.

@Somdatta Neogi
If you have a presentation on the topic "Mother Earth and the need to save the environment," please request to share it with us.
@ Rajashekar
You have already received great ideas from various members. @biss has given unique ideas. The Bike/Car-free departmental competition and all are new ideas for me. Thanks, biss, for providing the same.
I believe that you might have already finished the Environment Day celebrations. Why are you starting up such a delayed discussion on the topic? Are you planning to conduct anything more as part of this WED? Just to know the purpose, hence asking.
We have celebrated WED 2011 with the following events:
1. Quiz for employees
2. Quiz for children
3. Poster and Slogan competition among various categories of children
4. Drama Competition among departments
5. Tree Plantation

You should have such kinds of activities. You can use "Go Green with Technology," "Making Office Green and Fresh," and "Living with a Green Future."
Is this activity open to all? Can others participate in it as well?
Thank you.
