Performance Appraisals in the Graphics Department

I am working in the media industry. I would like to know how we can conduct performance appraisals for staff in the graphics department. Considering that creativity is not easily measurable and is more of an experience, how can we evaluate individual performance within a team of 15-20 employees? Could anyone provide me with some insights on this topic?

Thanks and regards

Facing the Same Problem

Dear Sir, I am facing the same problem. Would you mind if I contacted you for the same info? I have created an evaluation form for the design department; however, this may not be the correct way. I will await your reply.

Many thanks,
Drew

Dear Devi and Drew, The performance appraisal of the graphics department will be done in two parts. The first part will focus on individual performance, while the second part will assess teamwork.

Evaluating Individual Performance

In evaluating individual performance, we will consider the following points:

1. How effectively the individual creates page layouts, including the time taken for each page and the total number of pages produced during working hours.

2. Generally, if the policy dictates specific color combinations, font selections, and page layouts, an individual may produce four pages in an 8-hour shift. However, from a commercial perspective, they may only create two pages.

3. For organizations producing daily or special supplements, creativity will be a key factor in evaluating performance. The ability to showcase creativity and skills in these supplements will be crucial.

4. Photo correction is a critical aspect to consider. While photo scanning may be routine, the ability to correct and enhance photos requires a special skill set. Performance in this area will be assessed.

All other performance criteria will remain unchanged. If you have any doubts, please feel free to contact me via email.
