Hi Friends, which one is better of the two options? Job Posting or Resume search. Regards, Bala

Portal search is most of the time better than job posting. However, it is not always necessary that you will find candidates on the portal. When you are not able to find candidates easily on the portal, you should opt for job posting. In job postings, we often receive a number of irrelevant responses.

You should use both options if available. You need to search for resumes because, as a fellow member mentioned here, postings will fill your mailbox with a lot of irrelevant CVs. At the same time, postings will get you CVs that are otherwise confidential or not searchable. So, use both options wherever you can.

Hi Bala,

I think that when looking for a good job profile, both job postings and headhunting are important.

Job postings: They bring you a lot of profiles and even help in online branding.

Headhunting: Resume searches help you find a profile that matches the job description.

Hope my views help.

Hi,

As you are aware, recruitment is a time-consuming activity that cannot be avoided. The fewer shortcuts you take, the easier it is for both you and the organization.

If I were in your position, I would look at which activities give me quality results in a shorter timeframe. However, I would not completely ignore the other activities because I would be working with a deadline.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Both are important. But it should be done in order. As soon as you get the requirement, your first job is to understand the job profile. The second thing is to post the job on job portals. The third thing is to source resumes for the suitable position. If we go by this order, you might get a good profile along with your resume search on job sites.

Differentiating Between Job Posting and Resume Search

Job Posting: Here, you make your job criteria visible to candidates, allowing them to express interest if they are interested in the job.

Resume Search: Based on candidates' profiles (resumes) that match your job criteria, you can shortlist them, download contacts, or send emails or call them for an interview.

In Job Posting, candidates will reach out to you, whereas in Resume Search, you have to reach out to matching profiles.

In Resume Search, you will have more options to filter and choose from. Most job portals have various filters such as qualification, preferred job role, experience, skills, location, sub-location (only with freshersworld.com), English communication rating (only with freshersworld.com), gender, and last activeness, etc.

If you are confident about your job criteria (based on location, good salary, and job designation) and expect good responses, then go for Job Posting. Otherwise, Resume Search is a better option.
