Hi Vasanthi,

I am planning to withdraw my PF. I left my organization 1 year back. By the time of relieving, they gave me Form 19 and 10C. According to the PF withdrawal procedure, it should be attested by the former employer. In case attestation by the former employer is not possible, it should be attested by any other authorized official specified within the application form.

What is the procedure to get assistance from any other authorized official? Is it on the same application form, or do we need to fill out any other forms?

Please help me with this.

Thank you,
Vasanthi

Dear Basanthi,

You may ask your previous employer to send duly attested forms, which you will deposit at the PF office for withdrawal. Alternatively, you can sign the form and send it to your previous employer, and they will take care of it as the employer is responsible.

You can get the same forms (Form 19 and Form 10C) attested. In fact, the official is attesting your signature and not other details in the form. This can be done by the Manager of the Bank where you have your SB account (which is mentioned in the form as the SB account to which the amounts should be transferred), or by a gazetted officer, MP, MLA, etc. Once attested, send the forms to the PF Office. Additionally, attach a cancelled cheque to enable electronic fund transfer.

Upon receiving the forms, the PF office will request your Form 3 A and break certificates from your employer to process and settle the payment.

Dear Experts,

A friend of mine wants to withdraw his PF; however, his ex-employer is not ready to attest the claim forms. This has been ongoing for the last 1-2 years. In the absence of the employer's signature, he approached his bank manager to get his forms attested. The manager is willing to sign but requires an EPF circular stating so.

Previously, my friend submitted the claim forms attested by a notary, as suggested by many experts on this forum, but the EPFO clerk is rejecting this attestation. If any of you have a copy of the circular, please upload it. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Please note that this thread was started sometime in 2011. At that time, the attestation by the bank manager was accepted. However, with Aadhar-linked self-withdrawal and many other facilities opened to members, attestation by bank managers is accepted only if the establishment is closed and the employer who has to sign the form is not traceable. You may try online submission of the form, or you can complain to the PF Commissioner about the same.
