Hi,

One of my friends left her previous organization due to a personal emergency without proper intimation. The organization had a two-month notice period, a norm which she has not satisfied. She has also received communication from her ex-employer in this regard.

She has a good accumulation in her PF account. Is it possible to withdraw the same now without the previous employer endorsing her PF closure form? She doesn't want to approach her previous employer as she had left in haste.

Please offer your views and suggestions on how to approach this matter.

Regards,
J. Subramanian.

Hi Subramani,

Regarding your query, the PF can be withdrawn without the endorsement by the previous employer. However, the form should be signed by a District Court Judge, or any other authority mentioned in the act, also in the PF withdrawal form.

Another alternative is the PF can be transferred to the new account where your friend joined, and later it can be withdrawn.

Hi Subramani,

I agree with Umesh. There is a form called Form 13, which can be filled out by her and handed over to the HRD of her current employer (if currently working). The amount will get transferred to her new PF account with her current organization, which she can withdraw later upon her separation from this job.

For your information, I am enclosing Form 13 for your friend's help.

Hi, Subramani;

Apart from the above suggestion, your friend can directly submit Form 19 and Form 10C to the concerned RPFC of her last employer. The RPFC will then send her forms to the employer for verification of her last financial year's contribution with the company.

It's simple, no problem. Since some employers don't verify the last year's contributions of leaving employees, RPFCs have introduced this facility of direct submission.

Thanks,
Mohd. Arif Khan
