Hi,

In-basket training or in-basket exercise involves prioritizing. Suppose you have 1 banana, 1 mango, 1 apple, 1 guava, 1 pineapple, and 1 strawberry in your basket. In which order will you pick these fruits? You will choose first the one which is your favorite. Similarly, in an organization, there is always the need for prioritizing or selecting the best method.

In-basket exercises are mainly used in assessment/development centers where the participants are given a case study or an exercise to study and interpret accordingly. It demonstrates how they perceive the problem and what actions they would take in a given situation.

Some time ago, I posted an in-basket exercise on this forum. I will repost it along with the interpretation for you.

Regards,
Anuradha
