Dear Friends,
I need to set some KPIs for the company I am working for. We are in the textile sector with an integrated value chain in Ginning, Spinning, Weaving, and Processing. Any clues would be helpful.

Hi All,
I appreciate your efforts to design the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for the textile industry, but you need to specify the level of employment for which you really need it. Whether it is for managers, you need to stipulate for whom, such as whether it is for a Production Manager, Finance Manager, Marketing Manager, Stores Manager, or Purchase Manager.
At the working class level, there are workers working in the weaving or dyeing sections, quality control department, or at the laundry level. When it is clearly specified, it is possible to design the KPIs.
Thanks & Regards

Dear Mr. Raghunath BV,
In both of your posts, one from last year and the one you recently shared, there seems to be some misconception about KPIs.
I recently clarified the definition of KPIs. Please click the following link:

Your first post: You mentioned that "KPIs are universal and do not differ from one industry to another." However, I would like to clarify that while KPIs are universal, they are industry-specific. Each industry has unique goals; for example, the marketing goals in hospitality differ from those in the retail industry. Drawing parallels between them may not be appropriate.
Your Second Post: You stated that "whether it is for managers you need to stipulate for whom as to whether it is for Production Manager, Finance Manager, Marketing Manager, Stores Manager, or Purchase Manager."
Allow me to clarify that KPIs are for departments, not positions. Key Result Areas (KRAs) are position-specific, not KPIs. KPIs are as straightforward as a blank progress report for a student. When you fill out the progress report, it reflects the student's performance. Similarly, when parents set a target for their child to achieve a certain grade, they are essentially defining KRAs for their child.
