One old man was sitting with his 25 years old son in the train.

All passengers are settling down their seat.

As train started young man was filled with lot of joy and curiosity.

He was sitting on the window side.

He went out one hand and feeling the passing air. He shouted, "Papa see all trees are going behind".

Old man smile and admired son feelings.

Beside the young man one couple was sitting and listing all the conversion between father and son.

They were little awkward with the attitude of 25 years old man behaving like a small child.

Suddenly young man again shouted, "Papa see the pond and animals. Clouds are moving with train".

Couple was watching the young man in embarrassingly.

Now its start raining and some of water drops touches the young man's hand.

He filled with joy and he closed the eyes.

He shouted again," Papa it's raining, water is touching me, see papa".

Couple couldn't help themselves and ask the old man.

"Why don't you visit the Doctor and get treatment for your son."

Old man said,

“Yes, We are coming from the hospital as Today
my son got his eye sight for first time in his life".

We always try to find reasons as to why someone is enjoying instead of sharing the joy first. The couple basically looked at the young man and advised the old man when they could not find the answer to the question why? Instead, if they had chosen to observe the old man before advising, probably the story would have been different.

Hi Jai,

That's really a lovely story that fills our hearts with love, care, and humanity. It's something good that rarely emerges from within us, only occasionally after hearing such touching stories.

Thanks for giving us that moment to be human for a while.

Really, it's a heart-touching story which tells us:
- Don't interfere in anyone's personal life.
- Without knowing the situation, don't give your advice/opinion.
- Think before you speak.
- We should change our way of speaking in a polite manner (especially with rude people).

"Why don't you visit the doctor and get treatment for your son?"
"Is it his first journey on a train? Or why is he so excited?"
I really learned the above from your story - DIL Se!!!!!!!

Hi, I have a friend who is a professor in a teachers' training college in Baroda. He is blind and can recognize everyone through touch only, even those he has met only once. Currently, he is 400 km away from me. I wish he also gets the chance to experience the loveliness and beauty of mother nature.

Thanks a lot for the very touching and lovely story. Thank you very much for reminding me of my friend. Keep writing.

Prashant

I read this story almost a year back. But yes, by reading this again it reminds me how narrow minded we are and come to conclusions of a situation. Thanks AVS.

While thanking you all again for your excellent comments on this wonderful story, I guess this is not just a mere emotional tale to reckon with. Lots of today's management thoughts are emerging from this wonderful piece. I share a few from the list here:

- Think out-of-the-box
- Judgemental
- Decision making
- Perseverance
- Empathy... and so on.

I would appreciate it if members could add more to the list.

Hi Jai!

Your story of an old father and his adult son has a lesson for everybody. The son's genuine expression of joy and his firsthand experience is touching. It is always better to comprehend the larger picture instead of resorting to narrow thinking. The story cautions us against being quick to pull the trigger when it comes to finding fault with people.
