It was a sports stadium.
Eight children were standing on the track to participate in the running event.
* Ready! * Steady! * Bang !!!
With the sound of a toy pistol, all eight girls started running.
Hardly had they covered ten to fifteen steps, when one of the smaller girls slipped and fell down. Due to bruises and pain, she started crying.
When the other seven girls heard this sound, they stopped running, stood for a while, turned back, and ran back to the place where the girl fell down.
One among them bent, picked up, and kissed the girl gently, and enquired, 'Now, must the pain have reduced?' All seven girls lifted the fallen girl, pacified her, two of them held the girl firmly, and all seven joined hands together, walked together, and reached the winning post.
Officials were shocked. The clapping of thousands of spectators filled the stadium. Many eyes were filled with tears, and perhaps it had reached God even!
Yes, this happened in Hyderabad, India, recently!
The sports event was conducted by the National Institute of Mental Health. All these special girls had come to participate in this event, and they are spastic children.
Yes, they were mentally challenged.
What did they teach this world?
Teamwork?
Humanity?
Equality among all? Huh?
Successful people help others who are slow in learning so that they are not left far behind. This is really a great message... spread it!
We can't do this ever because we have brains!!!!!!!

This is amazing....
Somewhere as we "grow up" we lose our 'childlike innocence' and then program our children to be like us! Similarly, in a workplace, we look for complex solutions to simple problems, not realizing that simplicity helps. We have a lot to learn from children and especially gifted children as in this anecdote!

HI Isha, The story is really touching and shows how strong these disabled people are ......probably more stronger than us. Komal Kanwar.

That touches a chord... How far have we advanced that we have lost touch with what is important - respect, empathy, and camaraderie?
Why is it that we can see complexity instead of simplicity, duplicity instead of clarity, and in the rat race forget that alone we are nothing but with our colleagues/team we can win. Where is our soul?

Truly a very touching story. Even I am writing this reply with tears that I could not control. Professionally, I am a doctor, and I worked in a mental hospital for a couple of months. Except in the violent stage, they are very much cooperative with each other, doctors, and nurses. And when someone gets violent, they all come together to help the person.

You said it right, Isha. We cannot do this because we have brains and are low on understanding each other. We always want to build our success story on each other's failure, and this is the reality of the so-called today's practical world. Those who talk about emotions are treated as fools. Sometimes they themselves lag behind, or sometimes they are coercively pushed out... ☹️

Dear,
Really sensitive and emotional, special children have not only taught us about teamwork and humanity, but they have also stayed in all our memories and made us feel unity, love, affection, and selflessness. :o

Hi Isha,
It's a very touching incident you have shared with all on Cite HR. It should be an eye-opener for people who have gone away from being humans. Definitely, I will pass this message to all my friends.
