I also have the same query. I joined in May 2010. According to the leave policy of the company, every employee can avail 8 CL & 5 ML annually. I have availed 3 leaves till September. Now, please tell me how the remaining leaves can be calculated?

It's always done on a pro-rata basis, as Ijalab mentioned. When it's 7 CLs per annum, the monthly eligibility is 7/12 = 0.6 days per month. Just multiply that by the number of months you have been in service, rounding off to the nearest whole number or digit.

Question on Leave Calculation

Now, I have to ask one thing: if the annual leave is 14 (7 CL & 7 SL), and someone joins on 14 May and another joins on 24 or 27 May, meaning 4 months have passed, in the 5th month they have joined, will both get (14/12 * 8) 4.5 CL & 4.5 SL, or is there any other calculation? Please solve.
