I am supposed to train a few team members who are frustrated with the current work environment. They are receiving no support from the company, but the show must go on. Most of these team members are 35+ in age, having a few preconceived notions about training.
What kind of soft skills would help me pep them up and bring in a positive approach towards their job? Also, suggest an icebreaker or group activity where I can make them enjoy my session and acquire a moral out of the same.
Please help.

Hi nayakarchu,
Well, I feel one does not hate their work! It's the people who make them frustrated and hate the job and the environment. Hence, you can start with some great games for some time. Make them feel light. You can plan an outing and play a few games.
Game 1 - [Helps in TRUSTING PEOPLE AROUND YOU]
Make a closed circle and ask someone to come into the middle of the circle and fall onto the people who are in the circle. The people in the circle have to catch him. This game is good; I have tried it in my own organization.
Game 2 - WORK in a Team
Solving the puzzle: Jigsaw Puzzle. Make teams and give them 1 minute. Few activities include singing, dancing, also in pairs. What I meant is they have to be handled or guided through games. Giving them a presentation, especially people who are 35 and above, they will hardly hear you.
I hope this helps you. Do give me your feedback. Take care.

Hi,
It seems that the employees are lacking in motivation, which is being ignored by the senior management. In your training, you need to give scenarios that will help in building motivation. As suggested, games are one of the best ways to convey the message. You can use games on leadership and empowerment. You should also train them on managing stress and converting negative stress into positive. This will help them to enjoy the job and enhance productivity.
Hope my suggestions will be of some help to you.
Take care,

Hi Nayakarchu,
I understand it will be quite difficult for you to decide what to serve to such a group that has lost the taste in anything served by the host (frustration makes people so.), but it's not impossible though. Anyways, I agree with some of the people above that you should try to remove all negativity and fill in the positive thoughts and replace frustration with hope by any of the illustrations you provide in your training. It would have been good if you had mentioned the department or the work area of your team members. Clearer suggestions would have come. All the best.
Take care,
