Hi Friends,
I have to design a training plan for employability enhancement of MBA students.
I would like to hear from you all what all should be included in this program and may be if anyone can share some ideas that they have used in such sessions.
Regards,

Dear Richa,
Greetings of the day!
Please find enclosed a similar Professional Skills Module which we conduct for B-tech.
However, something similar can be prepared for MBA students as well.
Let me know if you need any further clarifications.
We have delivered many such programs in Delhi NCR.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Richa
To enhance the employability of students you can consider training modules broadly in thinking skills, communication skills and soft skills.
The thinking skills could include Critical Thinking and Creative Thinking Skills
The Communication Skills modules can include How to agree, disagree and be assertive; it also has to have group discussion and interview skills modules.
And soft skills besides regular intrinsic training should stress on building professional dressing sense and etiquette.
The underlying spirit of this programme should be self knowledge so that the students' can suitably play on their individual strengths and be clear about the challenges that are there for them to achieve their goals.
All the very Best

Dear Manju,
The training modules and value adds suggested by you is definately the call of the day. Numerous Educational/professional instutions are operating still the quality of produce is 'Unemployable'.
The modules/training programes mentioned in the quote would help new professionals to be a better choice but would still end up in the queue of apprentices. I am sure we must be aware what job an apprentice is put to, the job entrusted to them usually is what an ordinary person/ non-professionaly trained person can do. Reason, A-Z all intitutions train the students on Theoretical portions and those who claim for giving practicals/ practical exposure, give it in such a narrowed down and limited manner that it really doesnot seve the purpose.
The ideal stiuation should be if I as a student have taken up a Masters level course in say Finance or marketing, then I should be an value add, an immediate asset to my employer from 1st day. Why shloud my employer be made to test my skills for a period of time, worsemore train me again in the name of apprentice/ probation etc...
The current Educational (Read Academic and Professional methordology fails to instill the confidence of the Industry in their produce).
I may sound idealistic but then nearer to idealism lies the better path.

Please see Generic skills training for researchers : LTS: University of Cambridge for problems faced in imparting generic skills to students. From my experience it is better to incorporate some of these skills into various subject modules rather than presented as separate modules. The above site was found at Google
