Hi, Our company mainly engages in fabrication and erection jobs in Chennai. Our workers are primarily based in Bihar and other North Indian states. Every month, we recruit more than 250 employees, but only around 100-125 employees work consistently. Many of them work sporadically, just a few days per month, and may leave without notice. Is it feasible to provide smart cards for such employees? Please advise us on this matter.
Thank you.

I feel very sorry for your comment. When ESI itself is a social security organization, most employers' attention will be on profit and their business only. As HR professionals, we should take care of the welfare of our colleagues, employees, and workers who are putting in hard work for our organization.
We should always strive to extend welfare measures to every employee of our organization, including casual, daily, and contract employees, many of whom are migrants. Once covered under the smart card, wherever they work from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, they and their family members are entitled to medical benefits, regardless of whether they live with their family or not.
Thanks to this smart card, workers coming from Bihar or elsewhere can work longer tenures in your industry with peace of mind about the health of their elderly family members. I hope all our friends will soon realize the benefits of the smart card.
