Hi, Can anybody share the data on salary bands/ designations or grades implemented in seeds industry?. Any HR related data for this industry would be a great help. regards Parul.

This question seems to specific as I havnt recd any revert. Can anyone throw some light on how to start with the the grading?. What could be the factors to be considered in this excersise?

Good to see some budding HR professionals participating in this forum. Regarding your query, the solution is not specific. It varies with the size, turnover, and future plans of companies.

We categorize our seed firms into four categories:

1. Seed Giants (Major Players - Monsanto, PHI, Bayer, Syngenta, etc.)
2. Mid-Size Growing Companies (e.g., Nuziveedu Seeds, Mahyco Seeds, Advanta India Ltd., JK Agrigenetics Ltd., US Agri, Shriram Bioseed, etc.)
3. Mid-Size Constant Market Share Companies (e.g., Krishidhan Seeds, Ganga Kaveri Seeds, Ajeet Seeds, CP Seeds, etc.)
4. Small-Size Companies (e.g., Yashoda Seeds, Doctor Seeds, etc.)

After complete segregation, you also have to understand the roles and responsibilities of employees working at different designations. Based on the role, the salary should be decided.
