Hi Nisha,

Leave structure includes Casual Leave (CL), Sick Leave (SL), Annual or Earned Leave (AL), and Maternity leave. Usually, the number of leaves differs from organization to organization. Normally, it will be 12 days of CL, 18 days of AL, and 12 days of sick leave. If it exceeds 3 days, then a Medical certificate should be provided. Maternity leave includes 12 weeks. This is the leave structure that we follow in our organization, and the leftover Annual leaves can be encashed.

I'm also expecting to get a clear picture of the leave policy, and as far as I understood, it varies among organizations. Am I right? I need more clarifications on this.

Expecting valuable inputs from forum members.

Regards, Swati

Hi All,

If an employee joined an ESI applicable hospital for 15 days due to illness, but according to leave regulations, he has only 12 SLs. So, will the remaining 3 days be considered under SL or Loss of Pay (LOP)?

Please suggest.

Thanks & Regards,
Dayakar
