Hii, Its not mandatory to declare May 1st off. Only on national holidays it is mandatory to declare off. Amit Goyal

In Uttar Pradesh, it is not mandatory to declare a holiday on May 1. However, in some states, it is. May 1 is not a national holiday but rather a state-specific question. Therefore, the answer will vary from state to state.

According to state holidays, it's Maharashtra Day since May 1, 1960, the day Maharashtra and Gujarat attained statehood separate from the Bombay Presidency. However, Gujarat State does not have a day off on May 1, neither for Gujarat's Day, Labour Day, nor May Day. So, it depends on the management of the establishment.
