I need an experience and relieving letter. After a lot of research, I have finally drafted two letters. The only question/dilemma I have is: Whether the date on the letter should match on both of them or can it be different?

For example:
- Experience letter - Dated on 30/04/2001 (stating experience from 10/04/2000 - 10/04/2001)
- Relieving letter for the same - Dated on 10/04/2001 (stating experience from 10/04/2000 - 10/04/2001, resignation applied on 01/01/2001).

Does that hold good? Or do both letters need to be generated (dated) on 10/04/2001? Should the relieving letter be dated on the same day as the last day of employment - in this case 10/04/2001? Can it be dated on 30/04/2001 and still state the fact of being relieved with no dues on 10/04/2001?

Please let me know. That'll be a great help! Thanks.

Dear,

A relieving letter is normally given on the last day in the organization or afterwards; it depends on the policy of the organization, which may be at the time of Full & Final settlement. An experience letter can be issued while you are still in service and can be given on any day, not necessarily your last day.

Hey Thanedar..... Date of the letter does not matter at all. Since what will count is experience and releving letter date mentioned in the content of the Certificate. UKmitra

Answer to your question is very simple,

Be it a relieving letter, a service certificate, or any kind of letter, the letter has to be dated on the day it is prepared and signed.

Making post-dated or past-dated letters shows the organization and the person signing it in a poor light and should always be avoided.

Thanks & Regards

Hi Friends,

1) If any dispute arises between an employee and an employer, where should he file the complaint if we are not having any branch outside of Mumbai? Please provide me with the proper sentence for the same.

2) When is the employer liable to give a bonus to an employee, and after how much time is he liable? Please get back as soon as possible.

Mr. Sanjay,

Question 1: Is not clear. What proper sentence do you want from us?

Question 2: Refer to the Bonus Act (Search in Citehr) and if still in doubt, revert back. By the way, you have posted your question in the queue of some other discussion. Post a new query for your question.
