Is It Mandatory to Display These Labor Law Abstracts on Our Company Notice Board?

virajgovekar
I had a query. Is it necessary to display the below-mentioned abstracts on the notice board of a company? Whether this is required by the labor office? Is there any other abstract which needs to be displayed?

- Abstract of Minimum wages
- Abstract of Gratuity
- Abstract of Maternity Benefit
- Abstract of Payment of Bonus Act
- Abstract of Contract Labour Act

Regards,
Viraj

Yes, it is necessary to display the above acts' abstracts on the company's notice board. In addition to this, you have to display the following Act abstracts:

a) The Shops and Establishment Act (if covered under this act)
b) The Payment of Wages Act
c) The Workmen's Compensation Act

First, decide which of the labor enactments are applicable to your unit/establishment and then review them to identify those that provide us with the abstract of the Act and Rules for exhibition at the main entrance. It is not necessary that each Act and set of Rules directs us to display these abstracts.

Displaying Abstracts of Acts

Please find the attached file of Abstracts of Acts to display. Now, regarding the question of displaying it on the notice board: if it's not practically possible, then consider taking a printout of the acts, filing it, and placing it at the reception or near the attendance sheet where all employees can access it.

The main purpose is to display abstracts of acts so that employees are aware of the applicable acts. This purpose is now fulfilled.

Thank you,

Vikram

These notices are to be displayed at the premises of the establishment as per the requirement of the applicable Central or State Contract Labour (R&A) Rules.

Notice Board Display Requirement for Regional Offices

Is it required to display on the notice board for the regional office of construction companies (where actual construction does not take place), but where employees are also deployed under the security/housekeeping category, etc., through hired agencies, and where the total number of such employees is over 20?

Display Requirements for Construction Company Offices

Whether the display of all these abstracts needs to be shown in the case of a construction company at its regional office, where only administrative and management functions take place, and not at a construction site office. We have employed various outsourced agencies for housekeeping/security, etc., the total of which exceeds 20. I would be thankful if this could be addressed via the forum since we are unsure if we fall under the ambit of mandatory displays, as we are neither a factory, shop, nor construction site, etc.

Dear Members,

Please clarify for me whether this abstract is applicable for the state or central government.

Kindly suggest to me what Form X, J, U, and V are. Also, which documents must be displayed on the office notice board for the Tamil Nadu region.

Thank you.

I have recently joined a jewelry factory which has only contract laborers. I want to know what will be displayed on the notice board of the factory. Apart from the Factories Act, which other acts will become applicable? How can I determine that?
hrd@sltl.com
Can anyone share a digital copy of the Abstract of the Factory Act, 1948 (Gujarati & Hindi Version), Abstract Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972 - Form U (Gujarati & Hindi Version), and Abstract of The Payment of Wages Act, 1936 (Form No. 5- Gujarati & Hindi Version)?
