Before starting up, it requires immense effort to understand the unique USP you are going to offer to prospective clients. Prior to that, you may need to conduct surveys within your network and with a few companies to determine which segment of business offers a greater scope for soft skill training. For example, a customer care BPO may require these services to train their new recruits in soft skills.

Running Pilot Training Projects

After completing this initial research, you may need to run some pilot training projects as demonstrations to attract clients. Utilize your network and social media platforms with appropriate content to expand your reach.

If not, before you consider becoming a freelancer, I recommend working in the training department. Your time in the training department can serve as a transitional period. During this period, learn why training programs fail and why they succeed. Feedback on your delivery can also help improve your delivery style.

What is your actual training qualification? PGDBM is not a training qualification; it is business management.

Finding a Client for Training Services

You start with the wrong premise. You first need to find a client who needs training services. Then you conduct a training needs analysis, and from that, you develop the training needed to meet the organization's needs.

Tailoring Training to Organizational Needs

Too many people approach training as a one-size-fits-all. IT DOESN'T. Training has to be developed to meet organizational requirements. Every organization is different and has different problems that need to be addressed. Training has to be tailored specifically to meet those needs.

Interactive Training Methods

The other problem is that people think training is just standing in front of a group of people and reading the words on 100 boring PowerPoint slides. The trainees can read those slides back at their desk without the need of a trainer. Training needs to be interactive. When I train, I make the trainees do the talking and undertake activities. I just walk around and facilitate. That way, people learn and have a much better time. None of my courses have PowerPoint slides, so people don't get bored.

Almost everyone hates being forced to do training and will actively resist. What will make YOUR training different? Why will people WANT to attend your training?
