Facing Delays with Resignation Approval: How to Handle a Pending Show Cause Memo?

ankush-teshwar
I got selected by SBI and resigned on 8 March 2021 from my current job as an Assistant Manager at a public sector bank. I followed the proper rules and regulations, obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and an experience certificate from the corporate office.

During the exit interview on 25 March 2021, I received a "Show Cause" explanation memo letter regarding some past activity. I promptly answered and submitted it on 31 March 2021.

Currently, it is the third month of my notice period, and the zonal authority is delaying the matter concerning the explanation memo. However, I am required to start the new position on 1 June 2021.

Please suggest an effective solution for this situation.

Addressing HR for Resolution

Since you are presently in a public sector bank, there would definitely be rules and regulations on the matter to be processed. You can follow up with the HR Department and submit a copy of your explanation, which should set the ball rolling if it is not already in motion.

Dear Ankush, what follow-up have you done on your application? Have you sent the reminder? If the reminder is not answered, then you may escalate the matter further upwards.

Thanks,

Yes, sir. I am continuously following up on my matter. My last day of service is 8th June 2021, but there has been no acceptance of my resignation yet. HR informed me that the decision on my explanation memo has caused a delay, and my relieving will be done after vigilance clearance. It is taking longer than expected. Could you kindly suggest some effective ways for resolving this issue?
