Building Employee Belonging and Ownership: Is It Achievable and How Do You Do It?

Has anyone ever worked on developing a sense of belongingness and ownership in employees? Is it really possible? If yes, what are the best possible ways which can help in achieving them?

Dear Deepa, the answer to your question depends on whether you are an employee or employer. A company needs to have a culture of ownership and belonging. Building an organization's culture is an ongoing process and it cannot be done in just a few weeks or months. If you wish your company's employees to show a sense of ownership and belonging, then you need to ask whether the top management shows ownership to the employees. Ownership is not a one-way street. The employer needs to show ownership of his/her business and also to the employees.
