Worried About Background Checks? What Happens If They Find Out I Absconded from My Last Job?

I worked at HGS Limited (BPO) with a date of joining (DOJ) of 16/10/2017 in Bangalore for one and a half months, but then I absconded due to illness. Subsequently, they terminated my employment (dismissal of service date 30/11/2017). After that, I secured a position at Accenture and commenced work on 23rd March 2018. During the onboarding process at Accenture, the HR asked for a relieving letter. Instead, I showed her my tax payslip from HGS, which included the dismissal of service date and the joining date.

After a lengthy discussion, I managed to persuade them, and they accepted the payslip in place of the relieving letter. However, I am concerned if this could pose a problem during the background check since Accenture engages a third party for this purpose. If they reach out to my previous company's HR and discover that I absconded, will the decision of the Onboarding HR be final?

Dear Abhishek,

What was the need to mention the tenure of the previous company that lasted just for 46 days? You could have skipped mentioning details of this insignificant employment from your CV. As far as the report of background checks is concerned, nothing can be said as such. Leave it to destiny.

Thanks,

Thank you, sir, for your reply. I didn't mention this work experience in my CV. However, during onboarding, HR instructed us to disclose any short or long work experience to avoid issues during the background check. That's why I informed her.
