Hi, kindly guide me on the issue below.
I was unable to make it to the office one day due to heavy rain and flooding. My manager asked me to come in on Saturday (even though Saturday and Sunday are my days off) to make up for that missed day. However, I couldn't come in on Saturday as well because of my classes, which I had already informed them about. When my salary was credited for that month, I realized it included pay for the day I was absent. I promptly emailed HR requesting a deduction for that day's pay since my manager hadn't approved it as a paid leave. I am currently serving my notice period as I had submitted my resignation after that incident.
Now, my managers are insisting that I come in on a Saturday, stating that I have no choice in the matter. If my salary is deducted for the day I missed due to a natural problem, how can they force me to make up for it?
Please advise me on how to handle this situation.
