Using Astrology in Recruitment: How Do You Feel About This Approach?

Hi everyone,

I have decided to use astrological knowledge (which I feel is my soul purpose in this life) in my recruitment service. What is your reaction, please?

Astrological Services in Recruitment

To whom will you provide your astrological services? Will it be to job candidates or employers? What exactly will you do using astrological knowledge? What shortcomings in the existing recruitment methods would you like to address? Who will benefit from your knowledge and how? Will your services be horoscope-based, palmistry-based, or something else?

There are various methods to assess candidates, such as conducting recruitment tests and personal interviews. By using occult methods of astrology, will it not be akin to the old proverb "hath ke kangan ko aarsi kyon"?

Using astrology in a personal capacity is acceptable because people have been curious to know about their future for ages. However, curiosity does not diminish the mysticism of astrology.

There are many questions associated with your post. Please clarify.

Thanks,

Hi, it will help both candidates and clients as both by using astrology. I won't predict anything; that's a wrong perception that astrology is about prediction. It rather helps understand the mindset and ability of a person. I will do all the steps of tests that all the other recruiters do, and my horoscope-based service will be an add-on. If they want, we will provide it. And once again, astrology is not about predictions, neither will my service be based on that.

Well, if I were in Kolkata and looking to recruit staff, I certainly wouldn't be using your recruitment service. I fail to understand how this would make any difference. When I recruit staff, I base my decisions on the person's skills, experience, ability to do that particular job, and ability to fit in with the organization's culture. Nothing else is relevant.

Alternative Methods of Recruitment

Over the years I have been a member of CiteHR, I have noticed a number of—shall we say—alternative methods of recruitment. Graphology springs to mind as one. I shake my head and wonder just who makes this stuff up.

Recruitment Challenges

We have endless postings about recruitment problems: not being able to find staff, high attrition rates, candidates not turning up after being accepted, etc. Go back and look at the root causes of these problems. Don't resort to mumbo jumbo. That is a certain recipe for disaster.

I am sorry for my forthright view, but we need to move on. We are now in the 21st Century, not the Dark Ages.

Thanks, everyone, for your important points of view. However, as I have said before, astrology is a lot more than predicting the future. I fail to understand why commentators here are bringing up issues of Lord Rama and the Pandavas; those are related to karmas and dharmas.

Astrology and Recruitment

Here, I want to draw your attention to the system that can solve recruitment problems. We all agree that identifying skills and talent for a particular job vacancy is what we are looking for in a candidate. Knowing the basics of astrology solves all these with ease. It is really high time we understand the difference between astrology and predictive astrology. Once we know about something, only then can we pass judgment on the topic. Please think from a broader point of view and give me your opinion if you are aware of the subject.

(No disrespect meant to anyone)
