Writing the circular is one thing but I would like to ask question on the decision on making employees to work on Sundays.
When the employees work on Sundays or on Closed Holidays, they are given compensatory off (comp off in simple language). However, in your case it is other way round. Since employees took off, you need to make them work. Therefore, before you issue this circular, I request you to assess the legal tenability of this decision.
If the office was closed due to the protest then it must have been declared well in advance. Political protests do not happen impromptu. Why you did not declare preceding Sunday as working day before the protest took place?
