Dear Dinesh, Thanks for the reply, but the problem is my boss is traveling a lot and is not available in the office most of the time. We are four employees in the staff, and the rest of the team is in the sales department. I would like to write an email to him and cc all the employees. Can you please help me with what I should write?
Ways to Make the Occasion Eventful
There is more than one way to make it eventful. You can consider these options (I think simply sending an email won't suffice to impress him):
- Buy a very good greeting card with suitable wording, get it signed by all the staff, and present it with a bouquet as he enters the office on that day.
- Print a banner of suitable size and place it on the wall facing the entrance, in addition to the greeting card.
- Bring a cake with suitable wording and ask him to cut and distribute it among the staff/invitees. Also, consider using decorations/accessories that are commonly used in birthday parties (if you think it's too much, you can drop it).
- Consider organizing a small get-together party with high-tea, breakfast, lunch, or evening tea to celebrate the occasion.
- Present a gift—an article of his liking, something he likes to use most, or a "plate/memento" worthy of keeping on his table or in his house. This may even include a photo frame with his family photo or a statue of gods of his choice.
At the same time, it should not be too big of an event, as anniversaries in the office are not normally celebrated in a grand way. Many times, it's a simple wish by shaking hands. Do you celebrate like this for all your bosses? It should not end up causing resentment from others for whom you didn't do this in the past.
Regards.
