Hi All, as per the law, what are the maximum working hours in a week for a company in Mumbai?

Not more than 10 hours in a day or 58 hours in a week, or 8 hours per day plus 50 overtime hours in a quarter.

This is regarding the 48 hours in a week, whether with intervals or without intervals. Could you please clarify this for me?

This is regarding rest intervals. Provisions relating to working hours (daily & weekly), spread over, rest intervals, etc., should be referenced in the applicable Act.

Your client's establishment is covered by the Bombay Shops and Establishments Act, 1948. In terms of the said Act, the daily working hours shall not exceed 9 hours with a rest interval of at least one hour, subject to a maximum of 48 hours in a week. The spread over shall not exceed 11 hours on any day.
