We have not come across any special provision in the CL Act, BOCW, or any labor laws related to the payment of additional or extra wages for working at heights.

In a PSU, we have work contracts, and we subcontract to scaffolding specialists. As per the terms, an additional allowance is paid above the normal wage, and medical fitness is required at all times.

Some provisions exist in the Factories Act. I am not sure if these provisions are in the CL Act or BOCW. Mr. Khola, your comments are awaited.

Regards.

In my opinion, the Factories Act of 1948 also does not have any provision for offering extra wages for work performed at heights.

The provision for height work is in the Minimum Wages Notification of the state government. In West Bengal, it is 20% for work at a height of 30ft or more.
