Confused About Form 12B? Who's Responsible for Filling It Out—Employer or Employee?

Hi, please guide me on whether Form 12B is filled out by the employer or the employee. The previous employer seems to be concerned only about Form 16.

It has to be filled by the employer, not the employee. It will be issued when the employer has paid perquisites to the employee. Even if the employee doesn't have any perquisites, the employer can issue a Nil form.

The Form 12BA must be issued by the employer after remitting the TDS to the government. If required, the employer will also provide a NIL form.

You can also check through your bank account if you have registered for net banking with ICICI Bank or on the Income Tax Department website by logging in with your PAN number.
