Marriage Leave Under Factories Act 1948: Is There a Legal Provision for It?

subusree
Hi, I am Srimurugan, an HR Executive at Jupiter Component Makers, which falls under the Factories Act. Is there any legal provision for leave for marriage under the Factories Act of 1948? Kindly assist me with this query.

Dear Srimurugan,

The Factories Act, 1948 does not have any provisions relating to the grant of marriage leave. Chapter VIII covers annual leave with wages.

Dear Member,

Welcome to CiteHR.

In my view, you want to know about forms, not the forum under the Factories Act, 1948. In this regard, it is clarified that the Factories Act does not provide us forms. Forms are provided by the Factory Rules. Therefore, first examine which of the Rules, i.e., Central or State, is applicable in your case, and then go through those Rules to have knowledge of these forms.
