Curious About Employee Leave Types? Let's Explore Beyond the Basics!

Nayana Ashok kumar
Hi, I am Nayana. How many leaves is an employee eligible for as per the rules? I want to know what types of leaves are available. I only know about sick leave, casual leave, and privilege leave. Please suggest to me. 🤔

Hi Nayana!

It all depends on the company policy regarding how many leaves they want to grant you. I am in the pharma industry, and my company provides 8 S.L./7 C.L. per year and 1 P.L. for every 12.5 working days!

As Shyam says, it depends upon the company policy. Most companies offer 36 days of leave per annum, divided into 12 days of SL (Sick Leave), 12 days of CL (Casual Leave), and 12 days of PL (Paid Leave).

Dear,

Unless contrary, your software company is covered under the State Shops & Establishment Act. Therefore, go through your applicable State Shops Act for enforcement of statutory CL, SL & EL.

Hi friends, I am doing my main project at Bosch in Bangalore on 'leave management system'. Please suggest how to frame questionnaires on this topic.

Thank you!

As everyone is explaining pertaining to leave based on their experience, it is mostly correct. The leave policy depends on the regulations of each factory, company, or establishment. The leave policy may have been formulated according to settlements or agreements, etc. You should verify if your entity is a factory or establishment under the shop act, as mentioned by Mr. Khola. Then, decide based on your state's policy regarding leave in the shop act, if applicable.

Normally, privilege or earned leave is described in any law, not casual leave (C.L.) or sick leave (S.L.), unless the ESI Act is applicable in such companies. This discussion pertains only to S.L.
