Need Help Creating an HR Survey: Any Tips or Templates to Share?

Weleey
Dear all,

I am one of the management team members in a telecommunications company in Saudi Arabia. Basically, it's my first time joining this community, and it's really nice.

I would appreciate support from anyone who knows how to create an HR survey or has a form for this purpose.

Your prompt support is highly appreciated.

Dear Weleey,

I have a client in Dubai to whom I provide my consulting services. Please provide me with further details of the work at dienshdivekar(at)yahoo.com.

I am interested in understanding why you are conducting the survey, what the objective behind it is, whether the top management has given sanction for it, and ultimately, if they are ready to take corrective action if the survey reveals any sensitive issues.

Regards,

Dear Weeley,

Your information is incomplete. When you mention a survey for HR, it's a substantial undertaking. You need to be specific regarding the type of survey you are referring to. Surveys within HR encompass various dimensions, including:

- Behavioral surveys
- Attitudinal surveys
- Audit surveys
- Performance surveys
- Satisfaction surveys
- Exit surveys
- Cultural surveys, and more.

It is crucial to specify the type of survey you intend to conduct and the industry it pertains to. All the mentioned surveys are related to HR.

Sonali,

Thanks for your comment. This survey should be public, consisting of yes or no questions to assess the HR Department in the company. It's only two pages long.

Dear Weleey,

Are you referring to the Internal Customer Satisfaction Survey where staff are requested to provide feedback about the "services" provided, in this case, by the HR department?

Jane

Dear Weleey,

From the specification of your problem and response to others' queries, I wonder if you really understand the problem you want to solve. Unless you are clear about the aims and objectives of the survey and the type of participants - employees of different statuses, vendors, customers, or members of the public - you may find yourself wandering aimlessly in the dark without success in your mission. In that case, nobody would be able to help you solely on a hypothetical basis.

Furthermore, considering you are new to the company, it is unlikely that you have been authorized to conduct a survey independently or on behalf of the company.

Therefore, take the time to carefully think about the problem, clearly specify it in detail with the aims and objectives of your survey.

Hi Dr. Madhava S Hejmadi,

I could understand your survey on HR better if you could provide some details. Why do you want to conduct the survey? What objectives have you set for the survey? Do you intend to include all employees or only specific groups on a sample basis? How much time can you dedicate to the survey work? Do you have subordinate staff available to assist with the survey? How large will the respondent cluster be? In which areas of human activities within your organization do you need to collect information? Where do you plan to utilize this information, etc.? I can provide guidance via email.

Regards,
Yours in HR profession

Dear Sonali,

Could you please email me the formats of the survey as mentioned above in your email? I am from the jewelry industry. Please guide me on any procedures/rules related to the jewelry industry as I am entering this industry for the first time.

Hi Weeley,

You may conduct a customer satisfaction survey for your staff or a survey regarding the views/feedback of employees regarding HR Policies & Processes. By conducting these surveys, you may get a clear idea of the need for implementing/updating HR practices/policies in the company.

You can register on surveymonkey.com and design your own small survey.
