Compliance with Minimum Wage and Labour Laws
In our opinion, you are required to pay the minimum rates of wages applicable to the unit where your workers are employed. If your workers are working in any unit covered under the Factories Act, 1948, along with the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, and the Payment of Wages Act, 1936, then you must maintain all registers and records related to these Acts without duplication.
In Haryana state, under The Haryana Contract Labour (R&A) Rules, 1975, Rule 77(d) states that if registers such as the muster roll, register of wages, overtime, deductions, fines, and advances are maintained under this Act, there is no need to maintain these registers under the Payment of Wages Act and the Minimum Wages Act. Therefore, it is essential to review all applicable Acts and Rules and maintain registers without duplication.
