I have collected a lot of information over the years. I cannot remember the source of these articles - internet and research. Probably, that answers your question.

What do you guys think about the seriousness of training imparted to employees in India? Is it worth spending thousands on employees who don't take training seriously?

Dear all,

At the beginning, when I visited this very interesting HR site, I had the chance to access an article titled: "SAMPLE QUESTIONS FOR SELECTION INTERVIEWING FOR MANAGER". However, each time I try to access this tab, I am unsuccessful.

Could one of you help me access this again? I have to conduct an interview for a Manager position this week and I need some guidelines from it.

Do any of you have any other advice to offer me?

Many thanks,

Lalah Rambeloson

Hi Rohit,

This is Nandita. I just wanted to say thank you so much for posting the list of articles on training. I was really in need of that. Actually, I am preparing a summer training project on the topic of training, specifically focusing on training needs identification and analysis as my sub-topics. I conducted a survey with a sample size of 20 across three different departments. However, the issue I am currently facing is that no one provided me with a clear response regarding their training needs or areas where they lack skills. Most of them highlighted skills like communication. I believe this is because my questionnaire was more descriptive with more open-ended questions rather than objective ones. Now, what should I do to continue my analysis?

Could you please share some material on training needs identification and also advise on what contents I should include in my project?

I will be eagerly waiting for your reply as I heavily rely on that.

Thank you and regards,
Nandita

Dear Nandita,

Check out Rohit's thread on Training and Development. There is a question on Training Need Identification and Training Need Analysis. It will be of great help.

Dear All,

I am working in an auto component manufacturing company. We have around 60% of operators in the production line working as contract labor. What training module can you suggest for training them as soon as possible?

Hi Rohit, I appreciate your enthusiasm in raising the topic on Training for discussion. Many companies are still stuck at Training & Development. In today's competitive scenario, it's not just training but the Learning & Development process that activates the spark in employees to learn new concepts and techniques, rather than just training them.

Training as a Give-and-Take Process

In my opinion, training is a give-and-take process. Many organizations in India, especially in the manufacturing sector, do comply with the training process, but the effectiveness of employees, once measured, is not up to the mark that the organization expects. Training in manufacturing processes today is often imparted to fulfill training hour requirements for dashboard meetings or for documentation purposes for various audits.

Effective Training Practices

Training should be imparted for at least 8 hours a day, and monitoring of participants should be carried out for at least 2 consecutive months.
