Dear Members,
Greetings.
I have recently joined a organisation whicah is having employee strength over 200 .I have been asked to verify the authenticity of the certificates of all the employees working since jan 2006.
I wll be obliged if you could of help me out in how to go about Verification of the educational certificates and previous employment.
What are basic letter formats that are send to the institutions etc.
Please help me out with this as soon.... :(

first of all congratulation for ur job.
This is the most imp. thing in eah & every orgn. in recruitment
Verification of Certificates should be done carefully at the time of recruitment itself.
If it is nt done in your co. then there must be something missing.
u need to check the Recruitment Policy of your co. in details.
Then the advertisment of those posts which had published in different mode like in news paper, Internet, etc.
on those basis, u have to see the applications and those appointed against that advertisement.
Caste certificate is also to be checked in case of Persons appointed against reservation
Their medical report is also to be checked in order to ensure that they r in a position to do the work properly
these r some things u can do.
hope i gave some inputs to u which r going to help u in this regard.

You can approach any agencies, who are specialised in finding out the authenticity of the credentials submitted by employees.
Alternatively, you can also cross verification of original credentials and contacting the employers by mail/or letters.

Dear Members.,
great thanks for such quick responses.
But, still the help has not reached me.
I am not required to go to any external agency for this work and I am supposed to do verification checks ONLY of the educatinal certificates and the previous employment of the emplyees joined since jan 2006.
I have never done this b4 therefore I need the method of doing this as well the letters (to the einstitutions/ universities) that should precede this work.

i am praveen working in an engineering college,u need to verify that whether the candidate studied and the percentage he got is the most important information u ask ,in each and every educational institution they have separate exam cell is there they keep all records so ,what u do u call the educational institution and request them ,then they give within few hrs itself,ok

Hi,
I was working for one of the verifications company and in the employment department, i.e checking the authenthicity of the previous employment certificates submitted by the candidate.
Its very simple...now a days companies are well aware of these checks, So get the contact details of the Hr of his previous organization (can get it from the website), and give a buzz... get the email id of the Hr and send him an email to confirm your conversation, scan and send the certificates to find out if they are genuine (to be on a safer side). When calling tell him that your company is planning to hire the candidate and hence the check.
I used to do two Hr checks i.e the Hr verification - it gives you specific details about date, designation, reporting manager, salary details (although some companies might not disclose, ask them for an approx. amount) etc. and the supervisor verification - it gives you the feedback on job - respoibsibilities etc.

in my ex company we had a verification department where they used to maintain database of different universities and colleges.verification team used to directly contact the college and get the information from the college in most cases...we used to go for university verification in very rare cases....so i suggest u to collect the database of colleges with their phone no's..in our company educational baground is verified only for technical employees with experience verification...for management team only experience verification is done...
