Hello,

Seems like a good one for me too. You have covered most of the points. Also, you can check for any confidential information that would be provided to the employee, which he would not be expected to leak. Confidential information can also include one's salary.

I don't know the size of your company, but to ensure uniformity, we used our checklist and produced a 15-minute in-house video covering all of the HR subjects. This has been very beneficial. It is a little scary when you start the project, but using PowerPoint, you can prepare the slides in outline format and then script it out of the employee handbook. It will take a few tries, but it will be worth it.

I don't see anything about a "progressive disciplinary" policy to enforce the policies and procedures outlined in the orientation.

Hello Karthik, Its a good one, I would like to mention that probably information security and policies regarding insurance and health could be included. Regards, Renuka

Hi Karthik,

This is indeed a good one. But I think it can be made better by adding some points to the checklist in the Quality and Admin sections as well. You can also include a section for the System Admin / IT Hardware Department, which takes care of all the hardware/software/systems provided to the employees. You can create fields within it and add to that section as a checklist. Probably then, your form would be complete.

"Hi,
I have prepared an Orientation Checklist.
Please give me candid feedback on this.
Regards,
Karthik"

Let me know if this helps you in any way.

Hi Karthik,

My compliments to you for the new employee induction checklist. You may also make available the Plant/Office Layout, a pocket book containing the organization's Vision, Mission, Quality, Environment, OHS, and HR policy.

Dear Karthik,

I think it is okay in general, but with the help of IT, we can make it more successful by showing some slides on PowerPoint in relation to the company. Ethics also have to be covered. I think we can improve but good start.

Hi Shashidhar,

Other points to be included:
- Conflict of Interest Policy
- Confidentiality Policy
- Communication Policy
- Ethics At Workplace
- Travel Policy
- Sexual Harassment Prevention Policy
- Employment Benefits

If you include some of these pieces of information, it will provide more weightage.

Regards,
Shashidhar
