A workman was found guilty after the inquiry. Management served a second show cause notice showing its intention to dismiss him. However, in response, he requested the Management that he is the lone earning member of the family and show mercy on him.
Management has agreed to give him the punishment of reduction in rank. However, as a safe side, wants to have a settlement with him that he will accept the punishment awarded by the Management and will not challenge it before any court of law. Should we have 18(1) settlement or any other form of settlement?
Kindly suggest.
