Hello, Sir. I am looking for your help. I am now in the 7th semester, pursuing a B.Tech degree, and I will graduate in August 2024.

I lost my father in 2021. Due to financial restrictions, I joined a BPO company on 10th October 2023. During the interview, HR informed me that there is no official rule regarding leave during the first 3 months.

I informed them that I would have mandatory internal college exams on November 6th and 7th. They assured me I could take the leave unofficially, but on the 6th of November, they denied it. I offered to have my salary deducted for those two days, but they did not agree. Therefore, I had no choice but to leave. They categorized me as absconding and made me sign a document stating I would not continue due to exams, resulting in me not receiving a relieving letter.

I received my salary for the period from 9th October to 20th October on 1st November (4500rs). I have a UAN number linked with my Aadhar card, but it is inactive as per the EPFO portal.

I worked there from 9th October to 5th November. They sent the first Absence of Duty (AOD) letter on 13th November, claiming I absconded from 10th November without prior notice, despite my discussion with HR on 6th November.

I am concerned about how this situation might impact my future employability, both in government and private sectors. Currently, Accenture, Deloitte, EY, and TCS are conducting placements at my campus for engineering roles. I also aspire to take government exams like SSC CGL, banking, and RBI after completing my graduation.

Will my past absconding have a negative effect on background verification checks for future jobs? I have a strong academic record, no criminal history, and all other aspects typically reviewed during background checks are accurate.
