Dear fellow members, My question is related to the Basic Details change functionality under the Employee Provident Fund Member Portal. Kindly provide your valuable input. On the member portal >>> Manage >>> Basic Details, if the member chooses to update Name/DOB/Gender and selects any of the previous employers for attestation/approval, will the same details also be corrected and reflected on the PF records/Member ID of that approving/attesting Employer? An employee wants to transfer PF online from a previous company. However, he has updated his name on Aadhar after joining our company, and the same has been updated on his UAN via a basic details change request on the member portal—approved by us, the present employer. When we try to apply for PF transfer via the member portal and select details of previous accounts (which are to be transferred), his old name appears on the member's name (i.e., the name before he updated Aadhar). This discrepancy may hinder the transfer claim and lead to rejection by EPFO. To mitigate this risk, I am exploring if the member can update his previous service details via the basic details change functionality with approval from the previous employer online, without the need for submitting any offline joint declaration forms from the previous employer. I hope my question is clear, perhaps too detailed. Open to any technical corrections and insights. Kindly share your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

In the scenario described, updating basic details on the EPF Member Portal can indeed impact the PF records of the approving/attesting employer. To ensure a smooth PF transfer process and avoid discrepancies, it is advisable for the member to update their previous service details through the basic details change functionality with approval from the previous employer online. This approach can help align the information across all records and facilitate a successful transfer without the need for offline joint declaration forms. It's essential to follow the EPFO guidelines and ensure that all details are accurately reflected in the system to prevent any delays or rejections in the transfer process.
