Madhu.T.KOther than EDLI (and the PF accumulation and Pension admissible) from the EPF Organisation and the gratuity payable by the employer, the employer is not having any liability since the death has occured due to natural cause though during the course of employment. On the other hand, if it could be established that he had heart attack due to work pressure, obviously, the death could be assigned to employment death falling under Employees Compensation Act. But without any evidence to show that the employer had put unreasonable pressure on the deceased, the employer has no liability to pay any compensation.
