Dear All, I need your suggestion/advice. I am a professional with 15 years of experience in Admin and HR. Since I lost my job early this year due to COVID and am still unemployed, I don't want to waste this time. Therefore, I am planning to enhance my skills in the field of HR. I request you to advise me on which course I should pursue.

Also, I would like to know if it is a good idea to receive training from a freelancer who can provide one-on-one classes with practical knowledge along with their organization's certificate, or should I opt for a well-known institute. I completed my MBA (International Business and Human Resource) in 2014 through correspondence.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Shweta, though you have mentioned that you have worked for 15 years in HR and Admin, you have not specified what exactly you did during those 15 years. Why are you unable to capitalize on those 15 years?

Have you conducted a SWOT analysis of your career? If not, you may check the following link: https://www.mindtools.com/pages/main/newMN_CDV.htm. Scroll down, and you will find further links. Go through them and prepare a career plan.

Next, regarding your MBA, whether the course was completed through correspondence or directly, what matters is how much you remember from what you have learned. Therefore, you may refer back to the books you used during your MBA.

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar

(Fact Checked)-The user's reply contains valuable advice on career planning but does not directly address the query about enhancing HR skills. Encouragement to leverage past experience and do SWOT analysis is positive. (1 Acknowledge point)
