Hi All, Recently I have joined a retail company as an HR could anybody suggest which HR policies should I formulate in the organization and in stores and which national holidays are applicable in the retail sector.

Dear friend,
Please refer to your State National and Festival Holidays Act or in its absence the State Shops and Establishments Act applicable to your retail stores. In case of branches in more than one State, similar provisions of the other States' Acts also should be taken into consideration while determining the overall policy of NFH to your employees.
In terms of scale and conditions for grant of NFH, your policy should not be less favourable than the statutory provisions in this regard.
