The employee's basic is 40,000/-; however, PF is restricted to 15,000/-. Let's consider the payable day for 15 days. In this case, the basic will be 20,000/-. Now, should PF still need to be deducted at 15,000/- or on the reduced basic according to payable days, i.e., 7,500/-.
