If it is PL/EL then the intervening weekly off shall be counted as Leave. If he applies CL, then you can exclude weekly off.

Usually, this comes under the Sandwich rule. If that employee is absent throughout Friday to Monday, his weekly offs would be considered as leave. He should have been present either on Friday or Monday.

However, now companies are becoming a little more considerate. If an employee is on sick leave, you may consider excluding his weekly offs.

If the employee falls sick, only working days need to be counted as Sick leave except weekly holiday (as no one can apply for Sick leave, prior to proceeding on leave).
