I don't know how there could be discrepancy between the poster's calculation of the service rendered and that of the employer's. Whether there is any mention about gratuity in the F&F statement as the employer's calculation is on the higher side so as to create entitlement for gratuity? If not, the data furnished by the employer might be due to clerical error. It is for the poster to decide according to his conscience.

Inform the HR that they have shown incorrect info about your years of service.
This wrong info will prove costly when back ground checks are done by any future employer.
Morality apart keep this angle in mind.

As Umakanthan sir has rightly mentioned whose calculation is correct is better known to you. As per your calculation of service with the company you are not entitled for Gratuity, and as per the Company's calculation of service of yours then you are eligible for Gratuity.
