Hi,
Permissions are Company specific. The generally followed number of permission limit is 2 per month. 3 and above will lead to deduction of .5 day leave and this will continue in preposition to the excess permission availed for that month.
While you want to tighten the number of permission per month you should also ensure all employees leave office on time. If employee leave office due to exigencies of work the prior day they should be given some leniency for next day reporting to office.
So in general you can decide on permissions based on the work hours of your employees.
