Hi sir, I worked in an automotive dealership for the past 4.3 years from February 2015 to May 29, 2019. Recently, I received a job offer in the OEM sector. I have a one-month notice period at my current company. I initiated the buyout process, and HR has agreed to it. However, my Lead HR is withholding my relieving and experience certificates because they claim to have spent money on my training last year. They are now requesting that I repay the training costs and other expenses.
I was not informed about this procedure before undergoing training last year, and I was not asked to sign any agreement regarding training bonds. What should I do now? Please advise me on the best course of action.

Dear Friend,
Please discuss the issue with the Senior HR manager regarding your training expenses and clarify that there has been no agreement signed between us stating that training expenses incurred are payable by an employee. If the transparency of this matter is not understood, it may be a collusion of management. Therefore, you need to address this situation in a diplomatic manner.
