Hi all,

Please help me understand how to calculate leave balance if the attendance cycle is from the 22nd of one month to the 23rd of the next month. Is it one leave before the 15th of the month and one after the 15th of the month? Should someone taking leave after the 15th be considered in the next month's salary?

Thank you.

Hi Aradhana,

If your salary cycle is, for example, from 22-10 to 21-11 (it will never be the 23rd of the next month) and a person has taken leave on 15-11, their salary will be deducted in the month of November salary disbursement provided:

1. They have no leave balance (any of - Sick Leave/ Casual Leave, etc.).
2. They are in the probation period.

I am sure the salary disbursement will be done before the 7th or 10th of December for the month of November, which is calculated from 22-10 to 21-11.

Hope things are clear. Also, find attached the Attendance sheet which you will have to alter based on your leave policy as I have put a few formulas into it.

Please feel free to contact me for any clarification required.

Regards,
Swapna
